Baby name suggestions

Please feel free to post ANYTHING, but know that Daniel likes close-to-nothing! We need suggestions, and wouldn't you love to say "This is my blog friend Amanda. I named her child and I have never even met her!"

We won't know gender until next week, but we need a boy and girl name just in case.

Here are our parameters:

1) Girl names can be anything. Has to flow with "Johnson" - like I think "Madison Johnson" sounds weird with the two "sons."

2) Boy name gets complicated. First name starts with a D, and second name starts with a J. This is a tradition in Daniel's family, so we are honoring that. Also, any variation of "John" doesn't sound good with Johnson.

Thank you in advance for the many responses! I am so excited to have such GREAT input! *wink wink*

Oh, how exciting! Now...if I give you my choice of names and you SO happen to use one, when it comes time for my sencond child....I'm still using it! They can just have the same name.

Boy:
Dawson, Dylan, Damien, Dominick, Dalton

Girl:
Marlee, Madison, Malina, Abigail, Audrey, Anna, Rebecca

Have fun choosing, this will be interesting. Jeremy and I made a deal....if it was a girl, I got to pick and if it were a boy, he got to pick. We had a girl so I won!

I know it may be a little close to a sibling name, but if you don't care, then a girl name could be Jenna Lynn...

You know that so many people are going to comment on this because everyone has what they think are the perfect names! :)

However, usually it works out that you choose the name that you like the best, and don't care what everyone else thinks...

I agree that you should try to avoid the son son (madison Johnson) names. I like Dylan as amanda has suggested. I also like Donovan, Derek, Damien, David.

for girls I like Rebecca, Emily, Valerie, Maureen, Sophia, Audrey . . .

Are you due next week or do you just find out gender at that time?

I almost named my daughter:
Mia Soleil (It means my sunshine..I still like it.) It sounds very romantic, too.

I'm stuck on the boy names. Can't wait to hear what you guys choose!

Here's mine (you're gonna love it):

Constantine
Whoops. Not a D.
Okay.
Donstantine, Donstantine Johnson, DoJo for short. How adorable. Get that kid some eye shadow and a mic right now.

That IS the name. Let me know what I've won. ;-)

Girl -- I don't know. Peaches. You can be like Gwyneth Paltrow, just with a different fruit.

One more thing, the blogger bar at the top of this page, did you want it to be blue? You can choose Black on the page where you put the template. Not that I care one way of the other I just feel like it looks better the other way.

tracey, i laughed hysterically at that. DoJo. Yeah! also, what about Pomegranite for a girl?

jes - i like cambrie! that sounds so cute. i like cammy too, but daniel likes traditional (aka grandma) names.

you guys have great ideas! there aren't very many "d" names are there? we have thought about "dillon" and "caroline" but daniel isn't real excited about either.

quyck, i have a sonogram next wednesday to determine gender. i will post the pic and let ya'll guess!

grandma names, eh?

what about pearl? or ruby? lots of grandman names were of gemstones. oddly enough, so are a lot of stripper names.

so i hear.

you two should walk through a cemetary to get name ideas. just don't go at night.

scary.

no, not neccessarily jewels.

names like elizabeth, catherine, caroline, penelope.

okay, not penelope.

how come it sounds good on a super-hot actress, but if my baby were named that, people would talk about me behind my back?

lol. i saw "Ava" on a headstone once, and thought it was so pretty. i think when i get to the point in my life when i am coming up with names for my children, i will become a frequent visitor of graveyards.

For a girl: Elizabeth Audrey, or Audrey Elizabeth.
For a boy: David James, Dylan Jay, Donald Justin, I love the name Jackson, but it sounds awful with Johnson.

Hmm ... okay, not grandma names, but more classic names, right? So Pomegranite is prolly out. Rats. Little "Pommie" would be so cute. Heh.

Okay. Seriously, more classic -- how 'bout Olivia? Sophia? Madeline? (Maddy for short, you know). What do I know?

I think you should surprise us all with the name once the baby's here, though. Keep us in suspense. You don't want us bored and yawning, saying, "Oh, did you hear? Little DoJo Johnson's finally here."

How about telling us the sex, but keeping the name a secret? You could run a contest where we try to guess the name, first *and* middle. Ooooh.

Winner gets your next child named after them. ;-)

I just have to say and I know i don't say much, I am a friend of Jes's and I have a friend right now who is pregnant and if its a girl she is naming her Penelope. Dead serious. Penelope Maddox. So if you did it you would not be alone. I like Faith as a name personally. Oh and I like Hannah also

Hmmm...how about Jacob Donovan. Or Joshua Daniel. Or Joseph Derik. or Jack Daniel. (hehe)

Girls are tough too...

I love the name Ava. We almost picked it. Old names are beautiful! I prefer them too, DANIEL.

Just please don't pick Gracie. There are 50 million Gracies! Or Taylor. But be sure to see what the top names of the last couple years have been. We thought we were being original with Isabella...it is number 8 on 2004's list of popular names! GREAT
