I don't usually do this, but I think it is hilarious!
I love Dave Barry. He makes me laugh out loud. A lot. A lot a lot a lot.
This is one of the first columns he ever wrote. A dad's perspective on natural childbirth. Of course, it is relevant to us right now, but print it and keep it, cause you may need it someday, too!

That's hilarious!
Wonder if HE thought the placenta looked like a brisket.
That was really funny!
EWWWW, Jenn, I just read your comment. Nasty.
I've never seen a placenta, but I'll probably never look at a brisket the same again.
jenn is referencing an actual comment from my ever-famous birthing classes. someone mentioned that the placenta looked brisket-ish. what a thing to say!
i don't think i will be eating brisket again either.
I also had a friend who was so fascinated with the birth of his son, he watched EVERYTHING. Even looking in the dish containing the brisket...er...placenta. He got it on VIDEO, people! I nearly threw up in my mouth.
My poor husband has NO clue what he's in for. Then again, neither do I.
i have never heard of dave barry before. however, after reading this, i am a fan. that was hilarious!
He is Hilarious.... It's so fun for the first delivery because you are totally unaware of what labor is really like.... Now I know and just can't wait for it to be done! How many weeks are you exactly?????
What a riot!! I'm now going through some of his other great material!
yeah, dave is pretty funny. if i weren't married, and if he weren't married and old, and if he didn't live in florida, and, and, and...
some of his old stuff is kind of lame but i have almost all of his books anyway. "dave barry's book of bad songs" is awesome.

I was trying to write something a bit more witty than what was there, so pardon the deletion.
Anyway, Dave Barry has a way of making almost anything funny.
As the poor husband in question, I do know that the labor process is anything but humorous.
I'm so grateful we're going to be parents and I wish Amanda Sue and her family the best on theirs.
